Multiscreen encoders and transcoders
Appear TV’s multiscreen encoders and transcoders (for OTT) are fully integrated, hardware-based systems capable of simultaneously preparing multiple profiles. The solution can convert signals any input source in any format for distribution to a mobile or fixed platform utilizing an unmanaged network (such as a wi-fi network or the internet). The target device could be a high definition television in the home, a high-resolution computer screen, a tablet or simple low-cost devices using lower-resolution web and mobile-based profiles. The system accommodates specific device formats at different bit rates optimized for each destination device while maintaining a high QoS and exceptional reliability. The latest evolution of the multiscreen transcoding module allows users to simultaneously transcode a higher number of HD and SD inputs with exceptional channel density and quality. The hardware platform makes the transcoder ideally suited for today’s shift towards increasing channel counts and more HD resolutions. The result is a vastly improved real-time compression performance and efficiency that only solutions architected in hardware can deliver.

Outstanding video quality
End-to-end OTT platforms are complex and involve multiple disciplines such as content delivery and middleware. However, the most critical part of the chain remains the encoders in the head-end, setting the standard for video quality for the entire system. Effortless redundancy
Redundancy has traditionally been a complex affair with multiple control systems, fallible software and setups that are difficult to understand and maintain. With Appear TV's self-managed redundancy options, redundancy control elements are built into the platform itself, removing the need for external software. Multiscreen modules can be set up with either 1+1 redundancy or N+1 redundancy, both options providing fully redundant solutions without the need for an NMS.
